The Delmar Loop Experience
Sitting right on the edge of the city, the Delmar Loop is an urban location that truly offers everything. From vibrant local murals and historic music landmarks to industrial brick architecture and gritty fire escapes, the strip provides an energetic backdrop that feels both modern and diverse. The indoor spots add an extra layer of lifestyle charm to the perimeter, making it incredibly easy to fill a full session with a variety of backgrounds without ever needing to worry about the weather outside.

The Best Part About The Loop
The strip is lined with historic St. Louis entertainment landmarks and grand marquees, which serve as energetic anchors for walking or standing pictures while capturing a classic city culture in the background. The bold lines and iconic neon marquee outside of The Pageant provide the ultimate St. Louis backdrop, giving your gallery a cool, superstar edge. Just down the block, posing outside the historic Landmark's Tivoli Theatre offers a stunning, timeless frame under its vintage movie theatre sign.
Vintage Vinyl is easily one of the most popular and highly requested spots for senior pictures on the strip. Ducking inside to browse the massive vinyl stacks with a pair of headphones injects an instant, authentic burst of personality and passion directly into your gallery.
Right across the street, Fitz's Soda offers an iconic taste of local history. Because it is a true, locally crafted soda bottling company, grabbing a classic root beer float by the vintage booths or posing with a colorful glass bottle adds a fun, nostalgic flair that sets your images apart.
On-site architecture includes a mix of historic brick and modern glass. The alleyways tucked just off the main strip offer incredible, colorful local murals and industrial fire escape staircases that are perfect for adding a touch of unique grit to your poses.
For an interactive, lighthearted vibe, slipping into Pin-Up Bowl offers retro neon glows, slick bowling lanes, and arcade details that bring a massive dose of fun and personality to a gallery.
Connecting these areas is the St. Louis Walk of Fame; seniors can stroll along the sidewalk and seek out the brass star of their favorite local famous person for a creative, personalized walking shot or looking-down perspective.
What to Expect Each Season
-
Because The Loop relies entirely on architecture and city textures rather than trees and flowers, it is the absolute perfect location for early spring pictures. You don't have to worry about whether the plants have bloomed yet, the colorful murals and brick backdrops look vibrant and completely ready to go all year round.
-
Summer sessions on the strip are all about timing. While the area brings an incredible, high-energy buzz, we still target that gorgeous golden hour light for the outdoor portions of the shoot. If you choose an indoor shop that closes a bit earlier, we simply plan the schedule to hit those indoor locations first before heading out to capture that beautiful, glowing afternoon sunlight bouncing off the city buildings.
-
When autumn rolls around, The Loop takes on a beautiful, cozy urban vibe. The brick architecture and paved pathways pair perfectly with fall layers like jackets, sweaters, and boots. Plus, you get the benefit of gorgeous, warm afternoon sunlight cutting down between the buildings without having to worry about falling leaves or dead grass ruining your background.
-
Winter is where The Loop truly shines as a lifesaver location. If it's too freezing to be outside, the abundance of unique indoor spots, like record stores, bowling alleys, and restaurants, means we can move the session inside where it's warm and interactive. It completely eliminates the winter blues and gives your gallery an indoor, lifestyle look without needing any greenery.
Pricing and Accommodations
The Delmar Loop is a public space. Public parking is available on the street, but the absolute best place to park is the spacious public lot located directly behind Fitz's Soda (the address is listed below). While exploring the strip is free, shooting inside specific venues may require a quick purchase, such as treating yourself to an iconic $5–$7 root beer float at Fitz's for some fun, interactive diner photos. Restroom facilities can be found inside the dining and entertainment venues along the strip during their standard operating hours.
